Local Leaders
The Capability Company was approached by the Wokingham Learning Disability Partnership about whether Karen would be willing to enable people within local organisations to cascade her leadership training within their own organisations.
Consequently 18 representatives of 5 different organisations participated in a 3-day Local Leaders training course designed to enable participants to effectively engage with the governance of their organisations, represent others, and help influence wider policy. A fourth day covered 'training the trainer' and reports are already coming back of participants successfully passing on the key learning points to their peers in their organisations!
Escaping Victimhood
Debra Clothier, previously CEO of the Restorative Justice Consortium, is the new Director of Escaping Victimhood.
Karen has delivered development consultancy to Escaping Victimhood since the early pilot stage of its brilliant workshop idea (helping those at the sharp end of victimhood to move forward into the future). Karen has taken the organisation through the process of becoming a charitable company, positioning its work as of key national significance, to the point at which the organisation had sufficient resources to appoint its first chief officer.
Karen says "Escaping Victimhood makes such a massive difference to so many people. I am delighted that it will now be able to go forward from strength to strength!"
